I've bought some reflective material for the windows facing west, but they're still hot to the touch.
Blow hot air into attic form closet.
Open the door(s) and use a simple box fan on the floor to see if it will get the job done.
What they look like is below.
There really isnt anywhere for the air to go once its in the ceiling unless its the attic above your closet.
You are working against yourself a little bit.
Then your gonna need to build a box.
The cold air blowing through the vents then condenses the humidity into water which rots your wood.
Aye, what is above you.
If you have vents in your attic to let the air out, this is an excellent way to cool your house (poor mans ac).
In a closet or a basement, that’s troublesome, but not a major issue:
Moisture can build up causing mold.
A bath/range hood fan is intended
If this is the case then vent away, but if theres a floor above your ceiling then it wont work well at all.
In a matter of minutes, the two powerful fans will draw hot air from each room and blow it into the attic where it'll eventually flow outside through vents.
The most common is that crawlspace vents are commonly left open during the summer, and warm humid air comes into the crawlspace.
This box will not have a bottom, and it won't have a side.
Ok so you need at least a 6 inch fan blowing cool air into the closet.
To solve for this i installed a continuous blower into the ducting for this room.
These fans are commonly mounted in an upstairs stairwell or hallway ceiling where there's at least 3 ft.
